My name is Melissa Buckheit. I am the owner and therapeutic practitioner of Atlantic Orthopedic Massage & Integrated Bodywork. I have been practicing massage and bodywork therapy for fifteen years in Southern Arizona, Northeast Connecticut and Eastern Rhode Island. I am a licensed massage therapist, a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist, and a Modern and Aerial Dance educator and choreographer.
I came to massage because I wanted to bring pain relief, body awareness, and balance to people in a way which honors each person’s individual pathway to healing as well as the stories their body carries. Licensed in both Western & Eastern massage, I specialize in Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Release, Swedish, Integrated Orthopedic Massage, Sports Massage, Dance Massage, Biodynamic Craniosacral, Energetic Unwinding, Hydro, Heat and Halo Therapies, Shiatsu, Medical Massage and Prenatal.
INTUITIVE INTEGRATED ORTHOPEDIC DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Among the modalities offered are outcome-based therapies that marry technical & structural treatment and pain relief with energy release and deep relaxation. Our signature Integrated Orthopedic Deep Tissue is no exception.
Using a combination of manual deep tissue and energy techniques including Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Release, Myofascial and Energy Unwinding, Biodynamic Craniosacral, Deep Tissue Swedish, MET, MAT, Table Shiatsu, Qi Gong, Occipital-Axial Unwinding and passive/active stretches, this massage is a tailored treatment where the therapist seeks to relieve pain, increase ROM and ground the nervous system in several focus areas while bringing fascia, joints, muscles and Qi into greater alignment and balance. Orthopedic Deep Tissue is great for clients with fatigue and stress, chronic pain and limited ROM, specific injuries, past surgeries, chronic health conditions and athletes—and is ideal as part of a long-term treatment plan.

Therapeutic Massage doesn’t have to be only something you experience once a year as an hour of self-care.
